Didactics
Conferences are held daily from 8:00am - 9:00am, and from 8:00am - 1:00pm on Fridays. All conference time is blocked and protected from clinic and rotation schedules to ensure attendance.
Residents have input into both choice of topics and design of new conference series. The following is a list of our regularly scheduled conferences. Didactics on specific rotations are described under description of rotations. Conferences are given by Transitional Year faculty, attending specialists and subspecialists, guest lecturers, and residents.
Workshops are scheduled for residents to practice procedures, such as contraception device insertion/ removal, casting/splinting, intubations, and more.
Simulation workshops are arranged for our residents at the Center for Learning and Innovation. The goals and objectives of the curriculum that will be met through simulation include: Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Practice and Systems Based Learning, Professionalism, Interpersonal, and Inter-professional Communication. Simulation trains the residents on cultural and social competencies and professionalism standards through medical scenarios and procedures
