Meet Lauren D., 35, of Queens, NY

Lauren D. and her husband, Ryan, of Queens, NY, had the choice of any hospital located in New York City for the birthplace of their first child. With metro-area physicians touting Mount Sinai South Nassau’s program of compassionate, collaborative obstetrical health care services and attention to high-risk pregnancies, Lauren and Ryan chose Mount Sinai South Nassau.

"We could have delivered at any New York City hospital, but I wanted to give my baby the best start possible. The standard of care we received combined with the luxurious, private patient and labor and delivery rooms, make South Nassau the place to be for life’s greatest moment."

South Nassau’s Maternity Services Unit – with 26 all-private rooms and a state-of-the-art Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – is Nassau’s South Shore maternity destination. The comfortable, warm and inviting rooms, nursery and family waiting area allow parents to spend quality time with their new addition while enjoying advanced and compassionate care. Nursing mothers are supported by a professional team of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants through Mount Sinai South Nassau’s Lactation Resource Center.

Parent/Child education is available, and encouraged both pre-and post-natally. South Nassau is a Baby-Friendly™ Hospital, one of only three on Long Island. Mount Sinai South Nassau is also the first hospital on Long Island, and one of only 36 in the United States, to earn Perinatal Care Certification from The Joint Commission.
