Radiology School

The Robert J. Hochstim School of Radiography, operated by our modern state of the art Department of Radiology(link to section), is dedicated to improving the quality of patient life by providing our students with the necessary theory and practice, as well as moral and ethical qualities that will enable them to become skilled professionals in the field of radiography. Founded in 1945, it is the oldest accredited program of its kind in the state.

The program accepts ten students per year and is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), and by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). The program is 24 months in duration and requires full time attendance between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program utilizes both academics and clinical applications of radiologic procedures. All of the clinical rotations are performed on the South Nassau campus.

Graduates of the program are awarded a certificate in Medical Radiography and are then eligible to apply for the national certification examination from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Passing the ARRT examination also certifies the graduate to become a Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York.
